Pastor Luke
I grew up in western suburbs of Chicago and came to know Christ at a young age; but it was during my early teen years when I began to experience a deep relationship with Christ. Later in my teen years, as I began to read historical accounts of the First and Second Great Awakenings and other revivals, I began to sense a call to preach God's Word and developed a heart to see people encounter the transforming power of the Living God.
While going to college, I met my beautiful wife Jensine, and we were married in 2001. Jensine and I began attending Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois in 2003 while I was working on a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. After graduating from Trinity, the Lord opened up an opportunity for me come on staff at Harvest, so I left my job at UPS (after 10 years) and joined the Harvest Training Center for church planting. In early 2008, Pastor James MacDonald invited me to come work with him as his assistant. For the last two years I have been blessed to have an opportunity to learn from James as I have served with him.The Lord has blessed our family with three boys, Isaiah (6), Elijah (5), and Micah (8 weeks).
Vision for Harvest Columbus:
My heart for our new church is to see it become a place where individuals encounter the Living God each week through the unapologetic preaching and study of His Word, Christ-exalting worship, fervent prayer, and bold presentation of the Gospel. I am fired up about seeing believers grow in their faith and share it with others as they discover and serve with their God-given gifts and abilities. Finally, I envision a place where both new and mature believers can come together to encourage and exhort one another toward greater fruitfulness in Christ.
