New Perspective on Making Disciples

New Perspective on Making Disciples

1A) I will always have Christians in my life that are less mature than me. (v.7)

2A) I must be aware of how my freedom is impacting other believers. (vv.8-11)

John 8:36 (ESV)

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

The Issue: My perspective on weaker believers...

•        My bother to be avoided, an interruption to my agenda; or,

•        My brother to be served, my God-given privilege in disciple-making.

3A) Failure to care for my brother or sister in Christ is sin. (v.12)

Conscience: The God-given moral compass for choosing acceptable and unacceptable conduct.

1Timothy 1:18–19 (ESV)

This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith.

Titus 1:15 (ESV)

To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.

4A) Worship is demonstrating a commitment to sacrificial, patient, and relentless Love. (v.13)
