Passionate About Emptying

John 13:34–35 (ESV)A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
1A) Our church will experience joy when we have: (vv.1-4)
John 17:20–21 (ESV)I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
1b) Mature Uni-think;
2b) Mutual Love;
3b) Relational Harmony;
4b) One Purpose.
2A) Our model of this attitude is Christ. (vv.5-8)
3A) Our objectives in this attitude are: glory to God and favor from God. (vv.9-11)
4A) In order to glorify God as a church family:
1b) I must focus on emptying myself;
2b) I must focus on humbling myself;
3b) I must focus on raising the status of others.
5A) The result: Increasing joy in my spirit and timely recognition from God.
1 Peter 5:6 (ESV)Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.
